Has anyone ever tried restoring fiberglass furniture? I have the line on some great original Eames chairs that are a bit scratched and I'm wondering if it's really as easy as this article spells out. Just a wet sanding and some Penetrol and you're done? shellrehab.com/?p=3

This is great as I have a few Eames chairs that need their mounts replaced.

Not to leap on your thread, but does anyone out there also know how to get water rings out of the top of a marble Saarinen table without doing any particular harm?

There is a midcentury Reddit group where people seriously have solutions for everything restorative wise. Good luck, I wanna see the before and after

Yep. Have done a bunch of vintage fiberglass shells. They come out wonderfully not unnaturally new and glossy, but original and restored.

That guide you showed the link to. I think they doused that chair in penetrol. Use thinner coat and it doesn’t end up all glossy like that.
