Similarly with US milk... it’s also a prob for animal welfare as US allows higher somatic stem cell counts - which are assoc with mastitis. You can turn it down in the supermarket, sure — but what about in every cafe, canteen, restaurant? And what about all the dairy products?

Ita clorine washed, like lots of EU salad, not clorinated chicken.
-
Mate - I don’t care about the welfare of salad. I care about the welfare of animals. The chlorine wash (banned in EU) for chicken is because in the US they are allowed to build up a higher bacterial load when alive (poorer health standards) and then their carcasses are flushed.

We chlorinate our salads, vegetables and water. It is not an issue, just an expression of anti-americanism.

https://www.theguardian.com/world/2018/may/26/chicken-health-fear-chlorine-washing-fails-bacteria-tests-brexit-salmonella-listeria … The US also want product origins removed from the labels, we won't know US from Homegrown. Their animal warfare stds are way lower than ours
