So making an Xcode project available along with instructions for how to build it is now a violation of the dev program agreement?

@mikeash I was planning to put my app@bannerhunterapp (which Apple rejected) on GitHub - now I don't know if I'm allowed to… :| -
@kuba_suder@mikeash@bannerhunterapp I don't see how Apple can have anything against you open sourcing your app. Try it :) -
@czechboy0@mikeash if I open source it and say "sorry, Apple rejected it, here's how you can install it", that's pretty much what flux did… - View other replies

@kuba_suder@czechboy0 Then that can be one project, separate from the open source stuff, which you can just post as "educational" - View other replies

@mikeash@kuba_suder a@cocoapods plugin might be a good format for that, actually. /cc@NeoNacho - View other replies

@czechboy0@mikeash@kuba_suder I was actually thinking about making a Mac app for this purpose at some point, but why bother? -
@NeoNacho@mikeash@kuba_suder If you don't then someone else will. -
@czechboy0@mikeash@kuba_suder I’m much more OK with other people wasting their time ;) - Show more

@StepanHruda@jtamboli I'm aware. The rules don't make any distinction between the two.

@mikeash@jtamboli obviously no, there are GPL applications widely available... like this messanging app Telegram, whole@ArtsyOpenSource -
@krzyzanowskim@mikeash The fact that it’s available doesn’t mean the authors didn’t break the (crazy) contract.
