Difficult question for product folks to answer: "Ok, your product makes 'people's lives better' but does it *really* make their life better?" Customers might like the taste of Coca-Cola, but ultimately it's hurting their health.

How much does personal responsibility enter the equation? As a thought experiment, if someone was addicted to eating hamburgers and it's harming their health, does that mean Five Guys should stop selling burgers?

I was thinking about something similar the other day regarding Netflix's competitor being sleep: https://www.theguardian.com/technology/2017/apr/18/netflix-competitor-sleep-uber-facebook … I'm not sure I would feel at ease working on a product that actively has a negative effect on a huge health issue (sleep deprivation).
