Only if the economic incentives align with that. The company that sold you your record player gets the same money if you use it twice a week or twice an hour. Apps & Tech usually aren't like that.

But isn't that the case for Apple? They don't get paid more if you use your iPhone more. They already have your money. (Aside from their cut from apps, which provides about 3% of their revenue)

True, they do, but perhaps the more addicted you are to device (via third party app addiction) the more you'll be willing to pay $1K for a new one in a few years.
