Legacy platforms have an advantage when a sizable percentage of the population uses them. Very hard to change societal habits.

yes, it only really works for big, established platforms. Although to a lesser extent, it happens in apps like MailChimp too.

Not everyone uses FB Events, but for certain segments of society it's HUGE. - neighborhood BBQs - charity events - birthday parties
