I see 70% staying despite being offered 3-6 months pay in cash to leave. Imagine someone making $200K/yr, being offered $100K to leave, and yet choosing to stay. About 2/3rds did that. Quite a strong sign of leadership from another PoV.

Leadership is all about doing unpopular things. Making decisions that everyone agrees with is following, not leading. I might not agree with the decision itself, but this is core leadership IMO

No, leadership is about doing the *right* thing (even when it might be unpopular). Not every unpopular decision is a good decision. This is a very bad decision. Losing 30%+ of your team, and erasing much of the goodwill it took you decades to build, is not “good.”
