Re "building in public" - I like people sharing progress, metrics, etc. Problem is, the lack of context and leaving out mistakes creates a false reality/expectations that often mess up those inspired to do the same.https://twitter.com/peeplaja/status/1379622355484483587 …

Couldn’t agree more. I feel like a lot of us have been noticing this “boasting as marketing” thing ever since Jordan & Ben called it out
I know I’ve been guilty of it in the past, so I’m now trying to be as balanced as possible.2 odpowiedzi 0 podanych dalej 6 polubionych -

Yeah doesn’t need to be balanced in a 50/50 sorta way, but 100/0 def feels off. Even adding context that includes some idea of the work would make it way better. Funny how wins need no context (graph going up). But no one is sharing a down graph without explanation

Yup. It's one of the reasons why I enjoy following people like
@mijustin. The guy will share the good stuff, but will also talk about the hard stuff. Content like this is so authentic and we definitely need more of this. Less MRR posts, more authenticityhttps://justinjackson.ca/hard1 odpowiedź 0 podanych dalej 4 polubione
