Argh. Ok. I'm in the market for a new customer support app (live chat + email). We're on Kayako right now and we've now had ~4 hours of downtime. Everyone seems to recommend HelpScout. Anything else I should look at? (I'm making a decision today)

We don't offer live chat yet but people can send messages via the support widget.

Gotcha. Live chat is really crucial for us. It's one of the ways we stand apart from our competitors (we can often respond immediately). We also need to be able to chat via iOS app (as we're often on the go, triaging from home, etc).

I always wonder if live chat is really that that useful when you are a small team and for the most part the live chat sends an email anyways since no one is online
. Not to mention all the „hey“ and „hi“ messages you get all day

Yeah, we did, and I'd do it again. :) Might depend on your support workload, though. As a user, I appreciate it for some things (banking questions, for instance
