I’m not convinced by those monetization ideas. You only truly get a sense of how well monetization will work once it’s in place. FB could put all of those pieces in place for their existing live features (video, etc) but they haven’t done much there. They’re still an ad biz.

I mean FB monetizes its content primarily via ads *because* its an ad-engine. On insta, it monetizes through e-commerce but again it doesn't need video monetization because its all ads that drive the platform. Clubhouse, if it wants to be creator-first, will monetize via subs

But… if memberships worked in that way, why wouldn’t they apply it to all the creators they have on Insta, FB, WhatsApp?
