Nice post, it may not be for everyone. For me, when I started using
@tailwindcss my productivity went through the roof
When productivity and motivation increases. I tend to follow it

I totally get that! I think if Tailwind had solely billed itself as "hey, here's a way to be really productive and you can prototype cool shit quickly", nobody would be arguing about this. The problem is when it says it's The Future
and regular CSS techniques are all yucky.

It’s “The Future” in the sense that it will be: a) increasingly adopted b) a good place to earn a living as a web dev

It’s the adoption rate. More and more large companies are switching to it (
@mozilla,@algolia) and it’s become the framework of choice for growing startups (@tuple,@savvycal_,@TransistorFM,@usefathom). Current demand for the Tailwind skillset is already indicating its future1 odpowiedź 0 podanych dalej 2 polubione -

Just showing that I put my money where my mouth is.
Adoption of Tailwind is increasing with big and small companies. Lots of teams like to use it. It will be an increasingly in-demand skillset.pic.twitter.com/sIk6wEGyne

I find this line of argumentation problematic. I remember when AngularJS v1 was all the rage…what a deadend that turned out to be.
Conversely, Rails stopped being "the new hotness" for startups, yet it's still very applicable today. Popularity is a double-edged sword.2 odpowiedzi 0 podanych dalej 2 polubione
Certainly, that’s a possibility. But the Tailwind adoption curve seems quite different from Angular. (Largely because it’s replacing something else [Bootstrap] and has been largely embraced by large frameworks like Rails, Laravel, Vue, React, etc)
