At least the government is checked by the supreme court. Who elected the tech executives and who is checking on them? Government regulated, not government controlled. Just like AT&T is.

+1. Private platforms removing content because it violates policies is a basic private property right. Free speech means the government can't persecute you for saying something, it doesn't mean freedom from consequence.

Government censorship is much scarier. The oppressive apparatus of the state - guns, armed forces, police - that's where shit gets real. Twitter refusing to serve you? Please. That's nothing.
