But... isn’t there a difference between censorship instituted by a government, and censorship by a private company? If someone is using MailChimp to incite riots and violence, should MailChimp have the right to kick them off?

¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I don’t really think that’s what I’m saying. What I’m saying is: we need strong democratic institutions in control of important public goods. In fact, I think that’s what you’d argue too — an important public good shouldn’t be controlled solely by a private company.
