It’s mind boggling watching people confusing freedom of speech and a private company’s Terms of Use. How have they ever been the same thing. If Twitter deletes your account due to a violation you made of their rules, that does affect your (government-ruled) freedom of speech.

This I agree with. This does mean Twitter should now kick a TON of ppl off though. But completely fair.

What is “fair?” I frequently see people kicked out of bars screaming “it’s not fair! I didn’t do anything” to the bouncer.

That’s a pretty good metaphor! Also implies that the president could still shut down your bar or make you obey new laws. And that you get to decide to let other folks yelling inside your bar, maybe they don’t scream that loud. Up to you as long as law permits

Twitter is more of a microphone plugged to a huge speaker than a bar. Which makes screaming people even less welcome. Also regarding speech and action : Charles Mansion is in prison for a crime he did not commit but explicitly asked people looking up to him to commit.

The Manson thing is an interesting point. Giving orders is tantamount to doing the action since ww2. Conspiring is also since the mafia trials in the 70s and 80s. Is there a clear distinction between an opinion of someone powerful and a RICO conspiracy?
