I constantly have these thoughts and then immediately think "Then do something, Josh" but then realize I'm just exhausted and our kids don't have *that* many more years of school (6th, 9th, 11th). They'd all be out of school before any real change could happen.https://twitter.com/Shpigford/status/1336468186938617858 …

I’ve had that exact struggle. It definitely feels like (at least) a 10-year project to make any significant change at the local level. And by then.... all my kids will be out of school.

Right. Until you've got kids firmly in the traditional education system, you don't realize how terrible it actually is. And let's be honest, any parent with multiple elementary/high school age kids have essentially zero energy to do much of anything. Kids are exhausting.

Sadly. I can see why many parent opt for homeschooling (but we’ve never quite been up for that). I’ve have one of our kids in private school now. I wish that we could just use the public system... but the private system (so far) has been significantly better.

We've homeschooled for 10 yr and our kids enroll for 1st time this yr. It's the worst system I've experienced. It "just" need a mind shift, but it's so conservatory. Start by removing the fuck*ng exams, they do jack shit. More money, more ressources and more RELAXED overall
