Ok, now even FOX NEWS is calling out Trump’s lies. Strangely, my family and friends who voted for him still haven’t said anything...https://twitter.com/zoeschlanger/status/1324722753581293570?s=21 …

For all the “well, actually” people in my replies: TRUMP’S OWN COMMISSION ON VOTER FRAUD FOUND NO VOTER FRAUD.https://apnews.com/article/f5f6a73b2af546ee97816bb35e82c18d …

Justin Jackson podał/a dalej Gov. Tom Ridge
The former Governor of Pennsylvania (and a Republican!) called this out right away:https://twitter.com/GovRidge/status/1324515990697365505 …
Justin Jackson dodał/a,
Gov. Tom Ridge @GovRidgeWith his remarks from the White House tonight, the President disrespected every single American who figured out a way to safely vote amid a pandemic that has taken 235,000 lives. Not to mention those who are dutifully counting that vote. Absolutely shameful. Yet so predictable.2 odpowiedzi 0 podanych dalej 14 polubionychPokaż ten wątek -
Look at the contrast between these two. I'm not a huge Biden fan, but he's light-years more reasonable than Trump. (Trump voters: how can you stay ignorant while he spouts this shit? How do you rationalize it?) There's no evidence of widespread voter fraud.pic.twitter.com/mmw4WN987O

I'm not a Trump voter but I'll speculate: Most of them know Trump is full of shit about this, but Biden talks about a world that makes no sense to them. So they're hoping that the courts will find some anomaly, and Trump keeps the seat. (We might just be ignorant of their world.)

I'm curious (in a truly curious way i.e., not baiting here) what part of Biden's world do you believe makes no sense to them?

I think it's not even Biden's worldview that they don't understand, but the worldview of his vocal supporters. And likely same thing happens with Trump too — we tend to associate Trump with the crazy people in his rallies, rather than the other 70M regular ppl who voted for him.

When I lived & worked in a big costal city, the problems I encountered almost daily were: - Homelessness - Crime / personal safety - Random violence - Racism - Immigration injustances - Extreme wealth/education inequality - Pollution, vandalism, etc ...

But the ppl living in the ~2600 counties (out of 3000) that voted for Trump almost never encounter these problems 1st hand. They have other problems, and generally value different things. So they either ignore national politics, or believe the other side is working against them.

The US is just too big & diverse for consequential local affairs to be decided centrally in a top-down manner. And unfortunately power has gradually centralized over time. Presidential elections should be mostly about who we want as commander in chief, not about healthcare.

I think the graph of federal revenue and spending over time is a much better indicator of the centralization effect.https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Government_spending_in_the_United_States …
