The number of people who think GDPR doesn't apply to them because they – as the site operator – don't live in the EU or UK is truly astounding. It applies to you if you have even one user in the the areas the law covers. Same goes for the CCPA. Don't like it? Tough shit.

Because if you have customers in that country, you are beholden to the laws that protect their human and contractual rights in that country, not yours. If you don't like that, don't do business there. Simple as.

From an EU perspective that might make sense, but is this even enforceable? (Also, how does this fit into existing free trade agreements?)
