Curious: who's moving (or has moved) because of COVID?

Not exactly because of covid since we committed to move back in November. But covid accelerated it since I was expecting a housing crash (didn’t happen) and tried to list before the lockdowns. Just moved from SEA to the suburbs 30 miles away. Mainly to reduce cost of living.

Is housing in SEA still quite high?

Prices have been flat for about 3yrs, but the previous 6yrs were extremely hot fueled mostly by AMZN growth. Cost is about $500/sqft within 30min of Seattle, but once you cross that the prices drop dramatically to almost half. And unlike SFO, lots of room for new development.

Got it. One thing that’s been fascinating for me (looking at US real estate) is how expensive the PNW is compared to other areas of the country. Basically, if your state has mountains it’s 2-5x more expensive than other parts of the country.
