When people are looking for a solution, do they search: "Easily manage your company's financial future on all your devices." or do they type in: "Accounting software?" They're looking for ACCOUNTING SOFTWARE. Tell them what you do right away.

IMO what Justin doesn't get is that the homepage/marketing page isn't about *building* awareness. It's about giving people the motivation (and easy opportunity) to visit the *appropriate resource* for their awareness level. In most cases, the 'ideal' function of your homepage is to handle all 3 of these visitors. The first 2 are already high motivation. So they're willing to skip over the benefits-talk (that they already know) and click on "pricing"/"features" etc. Like onhttp://HEY.com

The purpose of the homepage is *not* to build awareness, but to help the user take the next step. For high-awareness people it will be go the pricing page/buy, for low-awareness will be to learn more about your product and how it can help them.
