Examples of a niche like that? Anything established + targeted at developers or IT. Most of the time you don't need to market the problem the them, just the solution.

So, programming commodities then. Email delivery. Log tailing. Uptime monitoring. Image manipulation. API connectors. Hosting. Issue tracking. OSS plumbing. Code editor plugins. Payments. What about developer-focused courses? Or, billing/invoicing software? Career coaching?

Dev focused courses often have benefit-driven copy, but I think sales are mostly driven by personal brands. For invoicing software, I think customers know what they're looking for ("invoicing software"), they search it, find a site that looks reputable, and buy.pic.twitter.com/WOi72XXhBf

Is it that simple? Your screenshot of keyword volume assumes a person (not even necessarily a developer) at a particular stage in the awareness journey. What about the rest? Would a developer not be more likely to respond to a landing page for a course on how to get paid faster?

A benefit-laden landing page. Then a backend offer to use the software, if they’d like (but the course would help regardless of software choice).

I guess “more likely” is poor wording. Because again: it depends on stage in the buyer journey.

There will be developers who are complaining in their favorite dev community: “UGH! I keep getting nothing but slow pay clients that argue about every invoice. How do you folks deal with this?” That person isn’t typing “invoicing software” into the search bar, are they?

Yes, but you’ve just revealed how awareness is truly built: in community, conversations, tutorials, etc. I don’t think it happens on a marketing page that often.

Yes. Awareness can be built in ad campaigns too. My thread is about marketing sites, and more specifically, homepages.
