You're 100% right man. I've been watching this and this just hits the nail on the head. I'm not disagreeing with anyone being pissed at BIG COMPANY POLITICS, but sheesh they have wavered on this hard.

Cool cool. Next time a trillion-dollar company (with enormous power) clamps down on you with a draconian policy, I'll just leave you be. Trust me: eventually, this will happens to you.https://twitter.com/mijustin/status/1274122944667516929 …

Justin JacksonKonto zweryfikowane @mijustinThe playbook is always the same: FB/AMZ/GOOG/MSFT/APP/SHOP/TWTR use indie devs & businesses to build and substantiate their platform. Then, when they've gained significant distribution power and market share, they use that leverage against the people who got them there.Pokaż ten wątek2 odpowiedzi 0 podanych dalej 7 polubionych -
That’s the issue, tho. It’s inevitable, especially when it comes to Amazon.

How could I affford my 5th mansion if Apple takes 5% of my revenue?

Again, I don't understand why you folks are so cynical. Apple makes $1 billion A DAY. If Basecamp has made a billion, it took them 21 YEARS to do it. The scale here (both in terms of revenue and power) is completely different.

We're cynical because it's not like BC took a big stand years ago. Only now when it's for themselves so let's not give them this big pat on the back like they're out there for the little guy. How they're acting is also incredibly embarrassing, childish, and privileged

"The enemy of my enemy is my friend." If using their privilege helps them AND the little guy, I consider that a win.

I'm cool with that. Here's the thing though a very large % of *actual* app devs I follow or have seen on here say the 30% isn't that big a deal to them and that there's bigger issues they'd like Apple to fix.

Marco probably one of the most anti-apple devs there is. I've already tweeted a bunch of devs on the other side in my feed if you want to see. Obviously, everyone would be happy to pay less, that's not even the issue.
