When people buy your email and send you emails you didn't want. That's spam..... just saying. I mean I know that doesn't fit the narrative and a cute 'no' button might make you feel better about it, but in every other email client you can just hit 'mark spam'. It's the same thing

It’s not. This is a more graceful way to say: “I don’t really want to hear from this person/organization anymore.” I don’t always want to create a spam complaint for the sender (which ends up affecting deliverability).

But that's not at all what Jason says in the first 2 minutes of his demo video. He specifically describes spam (though he oddly says it's not technically spam! haha)

Also Gmail already does this with no configuration and manually saying no to thousands of email addresses that get sent to me

I’ve really liked having the control. In practice, it ends up being good. Gmail doesn’t “automatically filter out VCs cold emailing you.”

It's not really about what this does. It's been a few years since people have been on the hot new app train. Everything else sucks in the world so this is something people can get jazzed about. I do suspect that the business version will be a lot more interesting than this

All I can say is: I’ve been using Hey for the past few months, and I really like it.
