We need leaders, bloggers, podcasters, founders, and creators who bring their whole selves to their craft and their community. We are not one-dimensional figures.

I think it’s interesting that you immediately go for government support (on the podcast), why not cut income taxes for low wage or something similar?
I think one of the benefits of UBI is less government admin, less waste.1 odpowiedź 0 podanych dalej 1 polubiony -

In a pandemic like this, there really is no other option but for the government to step in with stimulus. https://www.theglobeandmail.com/business/article-can-the-world-afford-the-cost-of-fighting-covid-19/ …pic.twitter.com/WpIchf2aCf

I partly agree. It’s not government involvement that I’m thinking about, but rather how. It sounded like you both (again I heard it on the podcast, while at the gym so, might’ve missed something) we’re talking about payouts or centralized healthcare. Why not cut tax?

I’m Canadian: I’m a huge believer in public health care! Most Canadians agree with me (plus, folks in the UK, France, Denmark, Sweden....) https://twitter.com/mijustin/status/969427392459505664?s=21 …https://twitter.com/mijustin/status/969427392459505664 …

Yeah. I try to avoid talking about healthcare ;) (swedish btw). I agree that long term requires a modicum of safety and self reliance. But I think it would be much more efficient to let people earn money easier, than to create a government apparatus to give ppl a safety net.

If you were neighbors with the USA, you wouldn’t feel that way. Seeing the devestation their system causes on their people is heartbreaking.https://twitter.com/mijustin/status/1232354841797677056 …

healthcare isn't perfect but Matt's story wouldn't happen here:
- Avg out-of-pocket costs for folks with diabetes is $1,824.97/year.
- There's no charge for visiting an emergency room.
- There's no charge for getting surgery.

The Us is a bad example for the entire world. I still don’t understand how they’ve managed to push medicine prices up to multiples compared to the rest of the world.

I believe the USA is the only developed nation without universal healthcare.
