First, my audience isn't one-dimensional. We all live in a social, economic, and political context. We have feelings, families, histories. "Business" exists within these contexts. If my ideas about business are divorced from their human context, how helpful are they really?

Business is profoundly affected by the outside world. Politics, natural disasters (and our response to them), economies, societal beliefs: all of these things affect markets. So if you're a "business person," you should care about things not related purely to business.

Couple hours ago I stopped doing "business"/"nerdy part" and went to read that research about scarcity mindset you posted and your depression post. It was really great, inspirational, but also kicked me out of my "box" of everyday business. t.y.
