Yes, but if they can "create more demand," why wouldn't they create the same level of demand for all their products? Why is the HomePod such a bad seller? Why does Apple Music only have 20% market share? My point is that demand comes from the market, not the company.

Same reason Apple stopped innovating 1985-1997. Radical leadership change shifted focus to optimization. Meanwhile, Jobs was off building NeXT (acq. for $400M) and Pixar (acq. for $7B). Visionary founders create the future.
