Do you think it can be a sustainable business? There's a reason http://Meetup.com is shifting their business model. Most of the meetups I attended were no/low-budget. So if someone is going to build a competitor, I strongly recommend building for the higher segment.

I would pay for the "Carrd version" of Meetup, where I pay $19 / year, and get to run multiple events, handle RSVPs, etc... At that price point, it becomes a no-brainer. cc

Isnt $19/yr too low? Or you talking about one group-multiple events for $19/yr?

For me, as a meetup coordinator, I need the price-point to be a "no-brainer" so that I just don't think about it. $19 / year / per group feels fair enough.

I'm a community builder and I don't want the organizer to pay at all. We're designing a system that has no fees for organizers/users. It's a DonorChoose type of model where sponsors can see what communities need, and supply it directly. Users can also donate.
