You can't "create" a need. You can only respond to a need that's already present in the market. The products we create are a response to current demand.

Another way to think of market demand: It’s the wind in your sails. You can build the ship (your product) but without the wind (market demand) you won’t go anywhere. The strength of the wind will determine how fast you’ll go.

Good thread. I might separate human needs & behaviors though from demand & markets. You can create new products from established needs & behaviors, but that don't yet have solutions or markets associated w/ them. It's a riskier path, for sure. But shouldn't be wholly discounted.
