I wonder if the rise of podcasting is due in large part to people not wanting to listen to their own thoughts.
Nate, Owen, and Sahil, I'm curious: Do you find yourself watching more video? (YouTube, Netflix) Or reading more articles? Or less consumption overall? (For myself, I noticed I'm watching way less Netflix and YouTube - maybe once a month)

I think I split it into two categories: 1) I don’t want to look at screens because I do that all day at home. So I read books a lot. 2) I’m very tired and don’t want books, so Netflix. Podcasts, weirdly, only find a fit for me when I’m cooking or getting ready in the morning

the only content I consume at scale is video. Netflix and YouTube

IMO podcasts are the most intensely paid attention to medium because they are actively engaged in and used when doing another thing. When walking the dog, doing housework, commuting. It is the focused second thing that is used to get through the primary. Keep going Justin!

I think we’re still far from saturation.
Podcasts compete with listening to radio or music. People do that everywhere: in the car, on the bus, while walking, doing the dishes.
There are 36 million YouTube channels, and only 700k podcasts. Lots of room.
