I'm reading the Walt Disney biography, and what's most striking is how long it took him to get any traction at all. The Disney brothers start their company in 1923, and basically eat shit for 10 years. Year after year of failed attempts, bad deals, and projects gone bad.

The Gabler book is a great read. I’d even say Disney’s real success and growth came largely in the late 1940’s when he shed artists trying to steal his intellectual property, the preying distributors, bankers and Hollywood unions. The tide started to turn in his favor finally

And his brother played such an important role, being the person keeping things together financially while Walt did his creative thing. So much admiration and respect for these two. Truly is an example of perseverance and American entrepreneurship
