Entrepreneurship is (probably?) not for everyone. But... it's increasingly accessible to more folks. Folks can move out of San Francisco, and build a little company of their own in Memphis, Salt Lake City, Omaha, etc... Even if they earn less, they can have a better life.

Given the cost of living in the Bay Area, that $300k probably works out as the same disposable income (or not far off) for an equal quality of life as the $50k a year and your own business.

Not really... its more of an indication of the crowd that follows him. I love having my own business but very few people would say no to a $250k raise regardless of the circumstances. Easy to vote on a poll though.

If it was $50k vs $100k it would be a closer reflection of reality. The point is well taken though.
