Imagine if you made $1 every time you snapped your fingers. If you snap your fingers every second for 11 days you’ll earn a million dollars. To get a billion? You’d have to snap your fingers every second for 31.5 years.https://twitter.com/paul_franz/status/1025451165142536194?s=21 …

This shows you the power of leverage when it comes to creating wealth: - You have 100,000 workers. - You earn $1 for every second they work. - In 2.78 hours they help you earn $1 billion. - If you pay them $20 / hr, your profit is $994,440,000.

Isn't it a little optimistic to think you can find an employee who can generate $3600 in value per hour for only $20/hr? Then find 100,00 of them? That's not leverage. That's fantasy.

Well... There are about 100,000 Foxconn employees that make about $2.50 / hour. Apple's hourly revenue is probably around $16,344,000.

I’d think Apple’s revenue must be double that… And Wikipedia says Foxconn has over 803,000 employees (in 2017). But these stats don’t really mean anything by themselves. It suggests that all you need to do to create wealth is hire a bunch of people.

The more important point is that if Apple (or Google, or Facebook, or Microsoft) were to give all its employees a day off, their revenue wouldn’t be $0 that day. Their revenue generating value isn’t (only) in their employees–it’s in their product! It’s all about the product, man!

The focus on finding a good product idea then developing and marketing it successfully is why I follow
@mijustin. :) (Even Apple didn’t start out making $16MM/hr.)1 odpowiedź 0 podanych dalej 0 polubionych
