What I've noticed is that Android games have been able to give info to Facebook, despite me never logging into FB from the game. I don't have the app installed, just logged in through a browser. Makes me wonder what Google Play Services is up to

But that won’t help with the sharing happening on the backend. On my activity feed, lots of the tracking comes from native apps on my phone that have been sending data to Facebook

Did you logged out or closed the account? I closed my I account but somehow always look available on messenger.

Logged out / haven’t logged in. Doesn’t matter they link your profile by your email and phone number

This is why we need stronger data protection laws that give users control over their data. The real question is how many companies have their own dataset like the Facebook one. They may not be as detailed but they exist and we have no way to opt out of them.

I use the Facebook container but while trying out the new Microsoft Edge I found a menu option that shows the trackers that it has detected. It was quite enlightening. Including Facebook.

That is part of the problem, the other is that the backends are in cahoots with facebook. Nothing that can be done in that case.
