Dismissing what we have in SF as bad gives people an easy out to not support or patronize public transit. I wonder how much ridership and service would improve if we simply shifted our vocabulary and sentiment.

Yes! And so often, 'poor' public transit is just a matter of getting what was paid for -- and the inevitable result of consistently underfunding transit/infrastructure.

i’m on the bus every day, and it’s overcrowded on no discernible schedule. it does deserve criticism. the n train is daily too crowded to board. and is our infrastructure underfunded, compared to other large cities? my sense is it’s all just mismanaged.
