okay i’m just gonna come out and say it: any digital currency controlled by a single company is trash.
congratulations, you no longer have a trash coin, you have a fed coin, which is by its hyperinflating nature less valuable than a decentralized, secure, scarce currency. aka you now have a slightly more authoritarian trash coin.

i would ask you what kind of world you live in, a world of free exchange or a technological dystopia in which all the world’s wealth is controlled by a few (less than today) people. but i really don’t think it matters what any of us want.

the only reason our analog trash coin has survived this long is competition has been illegal. given the choice, no consumer will choose a currency controlled by the whims of a single person - there’s no stability there.
