corrections to false news never catch up to the viral mistake. possible solution: ability to one-time private message all ppl who retweeted

j.k. rowling has 75k retweets on a false story. deleting it won't signal to those 75k ppl it was wrong. a correction won't go viral.
i'm assuming she, like most of us, genuinely wants to correct herself. but we need the tools to do so. easy fix here.

thought that too. but twitter could offer the feature for corrections only. either by application, or ban feature abusers.
