I think the popularity of Sharia Law is linked to the popularity of *Law*. People really hate corruption.

if this were true we would see super majorities supporting in majority muslim nations. we do not.

if it's true we should see correlations to corruption indexes, definitely a testable hypothesis!

unless I'm misunderstanding this would only be testable if ppl in these countries who did *not* support sharia were also anarchists

we should see more support for Sharia where people have less faith in rule of western law, implied by tolerated corruption.

this is interesting, and still a huge, scary problem for countries like England and France
