We have to look at how people's words line up against common fallacies. Do they engage in all or nothing thinking? Do they refer only to anecdotes? Do they speak of large scale conspiracies? Etc. We are very susceptible to these things because we're human.

None of these are measurable metrics. You are saying people are appealing to his credentials and authority and banning him over appeals to other people's credentials and authority. Congrats, you just played yourself.

The declarations of a single, credentialed authority carry less credibility or "authority" than the data produced by studies, experiments, and peer-reviewed research. Science is not a game of oracles, but of data.

The question of "how do we know who we can trust" has to be answered. But I'm genuinely concerned we don't have that answer. Anyone who defends vaccines is labeled as a shill for big pharma. Anyone who expresses hesitation at the status quo is deemed an antivaxx nut. Not good.
