Many people don’t want the web to turn into the vision that’s being professed (or even think it can be).
i understand that, i just don’t think what we saw today was a productive conversation, and there are much bigger threats to tech, esp from washington

But we all know Washington is the enemy. It's obvious. My concern is web3/crypto projects lead to the same centralized control hellscape of fiat money but are more low key about it because how could flashy blockchain tech and hoodies and software be bad?

web3 is the first-dot-com-boom of cryptography. I have seen very little that even pretends to make sense, even at the most basic levels.

Example: people keep telling me that somehow “your data” is going to be stored in a decentralized way, with no further explanation, and I can only think, this person has never written real software and does not know how it works.
