san francisco gets a lot of shit for masked vaxxed party’s canceled covid culture. but while things may be intrusive and untethered from scientific reality, ppl in the city are more or less eye-rolling through it all. los angeles, on the other hand, is still totally hysterical.

I was surprised to find New York more like the former.
i had a similar experience in nyc. people are basically aware of the irrational culture, and accept it begrudgingly like a kind of unavoidable tax.
