It is really is bizarre and patronizing. They really hate the people they’re claiming to help.
To play devils advocate, multiple narratives can be useful. I once took a break from work and read a lot of enlightenment philosophy. Most interesting to me was how 99% was nonsense about how the universe and human body work. Engaging with it helped me think more clearly!
FWIW, in my experience the teachers get it. They want to maximize their kids. It’s administrators and school boards who have abstract ideas about equity to change numbers on reports that make them sad. Friday is our last day in CA public schools. Family first.

Alright, so I can't access the article BUT I'm assuming it's similar to the San Francisco Unified School District that has de-tracked maths? This very different from eliminating advanced math but most curious as to how that's "extremely fucking racist"?
