ten years ago we were convinced self-driving cars were here, and pessimists hysterically decried everything from hypothetical mass job loss to AI murder bots. today, no meaningful autonomous cars, and a driver shortage. even our pessimists were too optimistic.

i'm reflecting on predictions from a decade back. i have no doubt we'll eventually get to autonomous vehicles.
