i think i understand what you’re getting at and agree generally, but there is a legit trance state involved in hypnosis that is very real and imo deserves more attention than we give it. most people don’t even believe this is real.

yea absolutely agree that most people do not believe there is a clear step function happening with hypnosis for me the pill/gateway was "oh wow reading a convincing essay is a step up from listening an incoherent babble" -> now imagine that same step function a few more times
