I believe there are claims of lying to Congress about NIH funding gain-of-function research. Personally, I find it inexcusable to knowingly lie about masks at the beginning of the pandemic. That alone should cost someone their job.

I am quite sad to see that Nietzsche was spot on in his fears for what the "death of God" will do to society. Masses strive to hate moral ambiguity, tend to engage in tribalism and love to escape responsibility. Society needs a religion, though they hate to call it that way.

No one represents science. Science is not a person. It’s a process by which we collect information and test hypotheses. Criticism isn’t dangerous, it’s part of that process. If criticism becomes taboo, then we’ve stopped talking about science and started talking about religion.
