On some level, it's easier to appeal to one billionaire than it is to appeal to a legislature. The latter has far more assets under their control, but you need soooo many people in agreement to use em for your project.

I don’t think people realise that Musk, Zucks and Bezos are billionaires because their company’s value has increase significantly. They don’t necessarily have the cash lying around to fix these issues. Politicians do!
