might be a stupid question, but the problem seems to be congress is trying to spend a couple trillion dollars we don't have on top of the two or three trillion we also probably don't have but are nonetheless spending. what if we simply didn't spend that extra couple tril?

i'd say it's more of a mischaracterization the bills than a steelman honestly

True, mischaracterization that presents the strongest version of their idea which leads any opponent of their argument having to steel man to argue out of it. Which is an issue because no one is arguing for 0 spending, most actually agree with climate and pre-k
