huge need right now for an organization of some kind that focuses on the protection of american civil liberties, could maybe call it the union for civil liberties? or civil liberties in america? american civil liberties union? idk but we need it and we need it yesterday

Definitely agree they could re-prioritize 1A issues. But 'civil liberties over partisanship' isn't substance, it's rhetoric. For example, voting rights in the 1920s was quite partisan. ACLU has a long-standing tradition of focusing on liberties that are at *most* risk.
