if a failing student still needs to be educated at 18 i'm open to the notion of sending them back to middle school and starting over

Thank god someone’s saying it. We have an insanely easy educational system and I’m not supportive of funding 4 years of fuckery for people who couldn’t hack it in high school. Obvious exceptions/modifications for disabled, handicapped or neuro divergents.

So what’s your solution? If people aren’t putting in the effort to do well in HS, what exactly will change by pushing students that aren’t academically prepared into a community college?

I know the hard-ass position is all cool and all, but it doesn’t really help anything. Lots of kids, through no fault of their own, are unable to do well in school. Shall we condemn them to lives of generational poverty? Like they say, if you think education is expensive….
