honestly why did bezos have to do a space war with elon? there's a lot of cool shit out there, go do underwater cities or fusion or fuck it terraform antarctica, idk. our most productive people shouldn't be fighting each other.

Without competition, they will stop lowering cost at the level which maximizes profit, which is unlikely to be optimal for society.
