honestly why did bezos have to do a space war with elon? there's a lot of cool shit out there, go do underwater cities or fusion or fuck it terraform antarctica, idk. our most productive people shouldn't be fighting each other.

Yes they should. Competition is one of the primary motivations behind innovation. Doing shit just to do it is dumb. Doing it to be the best at it is awesome.

Agreed, except it went beyond competition, with Jeff suing everyone because he did not win. That's detrimental to progress, and even his employees were dismayed to a point of leaving Blue Origin.
