This morning, I conducted an experiment: On my scooter ride from my home to the office—Capitol Hill to Dupont Circle—I counted every pedestrian I saw and made a note of whether they were masked. The result: 103 unmasked, 61 masked, for a (ludicrous) outdoor masking rate of 37%.
